Department Awards

The Maumelle Fire Department has established an awards and recognition program in order to acknowledge members who perform acts beyond the scope of their normal duties. A variety of awards exist to provide recognition for acts of heroism, valor, bravery, merit and other exemplary service during emergency and non-emergency duty. Awards for the previous year are presented at the annual Rotary Club Fire & Police Banquet, which is traditionally held in during the first quarter of the year at the Maumelle Country Club.
Meritorious Service Award
The Meritorious Service Award may be awarded to members who distinguish themselves by performing in an outstanding manner worthy of recognition while engaged in the mediation of a fire, medical emergency, rescue, hazardous materials incident or other type of response. Such actions may include, but are not limited to, those that result in the preservation of human life or the significant conservation of property.

- Awarded for life-saving actions taken on Mar. 11, 2006 at the scene of a cardiac arrest
- Awarded for life-saving actions taken on Feb. 14, 2004 at the scene of a shooting
- Awarded for life-saving actions taken at the scene of a cardiac arrest
       
Captain Tim Bullard
- Awarded for life-saving actions taken on Oct. 18, 2006 at the scene of a cardiac arrest
- Awarded for life-saving actions taken on Jan. 8, 2005 at the scene of a respiratory arrest
- Awarded for life-saving actions taken on Aug. 15, 2003 at the scene of a traumatic injury
- Awarded for life-saving actions taken on Sep. 25, 2001 at the scene of a cardiac arrest
- Awarded for life-saving actions taken on Dec. 20, 2000 at the scene of a traumatic injury
- Awarded for life-saving actions taken on Jul. 18, 2000 at the scene of a cardiac arrest
- Awarded for life-saving actions taken on May 22, 1999 at the scene of a cardiac arrest

Firefighter of the Year
The Firefighter of the Year award is be presented to a member who continuously performs their duties with unusual thoroughness, conscientiousness, determination and initiative. Reasons for nomination as Firefighter of the Year need not include emergency service, but shall reflect actions that represent the department with honor and distinction. Two such awards are presented annually – one each to a volunteer and career member.

Good Conduct Award
The Good Conduct Award shall be presented to any career member for completing five years of dutiful service to the department without without significant disciplinary action.

Volunteer Service Recognition
Volunteer firefighters are recognized for their years of service to the department. Volunteer are first eligible for such recognition after five years and are again honored with each additional five years spent as a member of the department.
